First Light at the Planetarium
"Welcome to the Universe"

Since 1993 we have been doing shows for schools offering our popular 'pick and mix' programmers. They cover the Earth in Space strand of the Science National Curriculum Key Stages 1 to 3. Presentations are led by the Paul England and/or Andrew Rowe, as interactive learning sessions. As well as the multimedia facilities within the dome, our tellurian has been as important to many visitors as the planetarium and other presentations. It shows why we have seasons and changing length of day and night. In addition there is an orrery, and other interactive displays that aim to make learning fun.
The level of detail depends upon the ability of the group. We have introduced new methods of presenting some topics and new, straight forward and entertaining means of pupil assessment. Pre-SATS project sheets are available. Our programmes offer you the most comprehensive schools' astronomy presentations in the UK.
