The Isle of Wight has very little light pollution making it ideal for astronomy weekends. At Island Planetarium in Yarmouth, visitors with an interest in astronomy can learn how to find their way around the night sky at a series of weekend stargazing/astronomy courses running from Friday evening 19th February, 19th March and 16th April. These weekends are chosen, near to the new moon, to be good for stargazing if skies are clear.

No prior knowledge is required for these courses, which aim to explain the architecture of the universe and give basic telescope instruction. For more information and to book a place on one of these courses, which cost just £50 per person, telephone the Planetarium on 01983 761555 or email us at enquiry@islandastronomy.co.uk for more details or to book.

We can put you in touch with hotels, B&B's and guest-houses.

£40 per person (Starlog Members £25)
These weekends are Friday and Saturday evenings at the planetarium.
